The CIMODE 2012 is a platform for research exchange in Fashion and Design, promoting the discussion of ideas between researchers, academics, designers and other professionals in the fields of Fashion and Design. Through an interdisciplinary dialogue and intercultural perspective, CIMODE 2012 aims to generate and present new scenarios on the present and future of Fashion and Design.

Being an inter- and trans-disciplinary conference, the 2012 CIMODE explores the Fashion and Design at the social, cultural, psychological, and communication perspective, seeking to bring together different approaches and perceptions on the practice, education and culture of Design and Fashion.

The congress is based on five major subjects: Fashion and Communication; Fashion, Identities and Cultures; Product Design; Marketing and Consumption; Teaching and Education.
It will include plenary sessions and daily sessions of parallel paper presentations, as well as interactive sessions of posters and scientific initiation work presentation.

The official congress language is Portuguese / Spanish and English with bilingual oral presentations on English / Portuguese or Spanish / English.
