CIMODE is a platform for research exchange in Fashion and Design, promoting the discussion of ideas between researchers, academics, designers and other professionals in the fields of Fashion and Design. Through an interdisciplinary dialogue and intercultural perspective, CIMODE aims to generate and present new scenarios on the present and future of Fashion and Design.
Being an inter- and trans-disciplinary conference, CIMODE explores Fashion and Design at the social, cultural, psychological, and communication perspective, seeking to bring together different approaches and perceptions on the practice, education and culture of Design and Fashion.
Theme of CIMODE 2016: "INTERWEAVING"
The territory contains us and provides impulses to our way of living and thinking.
In this third edition of CIMODE, a crossing of experiences and knowledge of different territories is proposed. It is a chance to find different views and approaches to and around fashion and design. It is all about creating a weave that boosts the reflection on Thinking and Doing. Based on different intersections, coincidences and tensions, a larger sense is given to our task.
The congress is based on six major subjects: Fashion and Communication; Fashion, Identities and Cultures; Product Design; Marketing and Consumption; Teaching and Education, Sustainability of Fashion and Design.
The congress will include plenary sessions and daily sessions of parallel paper presentations, as well as interactive sessions of posters and presentation of scientific initiation work .

The official congress language is Portuguese/Spanish/Italian and English with bilingual oral presentations in Portuguese/English, Spanish/English or Italian/English
